Pino Arlacchi (S&D ), in writing . − The report on the external dimension of social policy relates to a priority for the EU social policies. It calls for the strengthening of the core labour standards embedded in the ILO conventions, including freedom of association and collective bargaining, elimination of forced and compulsory labour, elimination of discrimination in respect of employment and occupation, and the abolition of child labour. I voted in favour of this report because it also calls for a change in governance, globally and in the EU, in order to better implement workers’ rights and working conditions.
